Product Intro

Baclofen, trade name: leoresin, chemical name: β- 4-Chloro-phenyl- γ- Aminobutyric acid, yes γ- The substituted derivatives of aminobutyric acid are skeletal muscle relaxants and sedatives acting on the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system. This product inhibits the release of excitatory amino acids such as glutamate and aspartate by activating GABA receptors, so as to inhibit the transmission of monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflex in the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system, so as to play a spasmolysis role.

Function

Its main function is to excite GABA receptors, inhibit the release of excitatory amino acids such as aspartate and glutamate through synapses, make potassium and calcium ions in neurons outflow, produce hyperpolarization, reduce the transmission of monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflex, promote the normal activity of intermediate neurons and reduce the activity of motor neurons, So as to alleviate the spasticity of skeletal muscle caused by pyramidal tract damage, reduce muscle tension and promote the recovery of motor function.

Application

1. Treat hemiplegia caused by cerebrovascular diseases.

2. Treat intractable hiccup and neuropathic pain.

3. Treat dysfunctional micturition and micturition dysfunction after spinal cord injury.

4. Treatment of acute attack of lumbar disc herniation.

5. Treat spinal cord injury spasm.

6. Intrathecal injection therapy, high-dose injection of baclofen can alleviate the spasm caused by spinal cord injury in a short time.

Baclofen is a medication that belongs to the class of drugs known as skeletal muscle relaxants. It is primarily used to treat muscle spasms, muscle stiffness, and muscle rigidity that can occur as a result of conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, or certain neurological disorders.

Baclofen works by acting as a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) agonist. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, and by activating GABA receptors, baclofen helps reduce the activity of nerves in the brain and spinal cord. This can result in muscle relaxation and relief from spasticity.

Here are some key points regarding the use of baclofen:

  1. Muscle Spasms: Baclofen is commonly prescribed to alleviate muscle spasms associated with conditions like multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, or stroke. It can help reduce the frequency and severity of spasms, making movement easier and more comfortable.

  2. Spasticity: Baclofen is also used to manage spasticity, which refers to the tightness and stiffness of muscles caused by neurological conditions. By reducing muscle hyperactivity, baclofen can improve mobility and reduce pain.

  3. Dosage and Administration: Baclofen is available in oral tablet or liquid forms. The dosage is typically started at a low level and gradually increased under the supervision of a healthcare professional. The medication should be taken as prescribed, and sudden discontinuation should be avoided, as it can lead to withdrawal symptoms.

  4. Side Effects: Baclofen can cause certain side effects, which may include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, headache, nausea, and dry mouth. It is important to discuss any potential side effects with a doctor and report any severe or persistent symptoms.

  5. Caution and Precautions: Baclofen may interact with other medications, so it's crucial to inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking. Additionally, baclofen should be used with caution in individuals with a history of kidney disease, epilepsy, psychiatric conditions, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

As with any medication, it is important to follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. They can provide you with personalized advice and monitor your progress to ensure the safe and effective use of baclofen.
