Ritodrine hydrochloride, also known as hydroxybenzyl hydroxyephedrine. Function

It passes through the surface of uterine myocytes β 2 receptor binding, activate adenylate cyclase of cell membrane, convert adenosine triphosphate into cyclic adenosine monophosphate, reduce myosin light chain kinase activity, inhibit the release of calcium from sarcoplasmic reticulum and reduce the concentration of calcium ions in cells, so as to inhibit the contraction of uterine muscle fibers.

Application

It is used to prevent preterm birth after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The best dose depends on the balance between uterine reaction and adverse reaction. Intravenous drip can be used when there is recurrent uterine contraction. Infusion pump should be used to control the dropping speed during intravenous drip.
