Secnidazole is a nitroimidazole antigen insect and anaerobic drug. Its structure and pharmacological effect are similar to metronidazole. It is white to almost white or yellowish crystalline powder at room temperature. It has no odor and bitter taste. It has the effects of anti trichomonas and anti amoeba protozoa. At first, the chemicalbook was successfully developed by Rhone Poulenc Rorer pharmaceutical company in France. By acting on the growth period of protozoa or anaerobic bacteria, it destroys DNA strand or inhibits DNA synthesis, resulting in the death of protozoa and anaerobic bacteria.

Application

Clinically, secnidazole can be used to treat urethritis, vaginitis, male prostatitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, various acute and chronic hepatointestinal amebiasis (intestinal amebiasis, hepatic amebiasis), giardiasis and anaerobic infection in various parts of the human body.
