Ganciclovir
Product Intro
Ganciclovir is a nucleoside antiviral drug, which can competitively inhibit DNA polymerase and incorporate it into the DNA of virus and host cells, so as to inhibit DNA synthesis. The product was launched by syntex company of the United States and approved for marketing in 1988. It is the first choice for the treatment of cytomegalovirus infection. In other countries, indications for ganciclovir are treatment of immunodeficiency (including AIDS) patients with cytomegalovirus retinitis and induction period and maintenance period. They can also be used to prevent cytomegalovirus diseases in patients receiving positive organ transplantation for prevention of cytomegalovirus serological test positive AIDS.
Function
It has broad spectrum and high efficiency in inhibiting herpes virus, and is the first choice for treating cytomegalovirus infection. It also has strong effects on hepatitis B virus and adenovirus. It is a homologue with A Silowe Chemicalbook (ACV). Its antiviral activity is similar to that of A Silowe, but its effect is stronger, especially for cytomegalovirus in AIDS patients.
Application
It is suitable for the treatment of patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) complicated with cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis and the prevention of CMV infection in high-risk solid organ transplantation patients.
